Lunge and ROTATE
Lunging with a simultaneous twist helps to build not only leg and core strength but adds balance and stability.
The "secret" is to keep your core tight and rotate your upper torso in a smooth controlled manner keeping the weight level.
Variations of this exercise include lunging forward & lunging backwards. If lunging forward, return to upper position by driving backwards off front foot. If lunging backwards, return to upper position by driving "upwards" with front leg.
Another variation of this exercise is to to perform while lunging over a set distance alternating legs.

Plyometrics for Power
Plyometrics have long been used in sports performance training to increase speed and explosivness in sports, but many athletes have not taken advantage of angle plyo jumps. Angle plyo jumps improve explosion in side-to-side movements on the ice for hockey players. Check out the video above.

Track the puck with vision training
Athletes move by what they SEE. Your actions on the ice are initiated by what you see---defensive players by the net, the puch shooting across the ice.
So, it only makes sense to train your vision! Download a FREE copy of our Athlete Vision Training Program below to make your on ice performance even better!
